ABOUT THE ROLE

Holcim, formerly known as Aggregate Industries is looking for an individual to join our team as a Plant Maintenance Technician. Candidate must possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude and the ability to work safely, effectively and efficiently in fast-paced team environment. This person will be responsible for the plant maintenance of several aggregate plants in the Hawley/Rollag area.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

  • Responsible for maintaining the plant manufacturing equipment in a state of readiness for the regional Aggregate Division.

  • Works collaboratively with all levels of the division. Identifies and makes suggestions for items in the field for repair to avoid any unscheduled downtime.

  • Works with acetylene torches, welders, hand tools, hydraulic and air-powered tools. Safe use of company service truck with truck mounted crane, aerial lifts, wheel loaders and forklift.

  • Complete work orders in a timely manner; installing, repairing and fabricating products out of various materials; ensuring availability and functioning of required items; and ensuring safety and resolving immediate safety concerns.

  • Perform the appropriate plant equipment inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance. Responsible for preparing and welding steel structures, appendages and equipment.

  • Assists personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

  • Responds to emergency maintenance situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

  • Position based out of Rollag or Hawley, with daily regional travel to as far north as Ulen MN, south to Wahpeton ND, east to Park Rapids MN and west to Fargo, ND

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Commercial driver’s license required, Class A or B preferred, Health Card Required.

  • Welding certification a plus

  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as the use of all shop equipment such as welding and machining equipment

  • Schedule flexibility to include early mornings, late evenings and occasional overnight travel

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

  • Safe Driving record

  • Millwright experience (Preferred)

  • Three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in mechanical repair, installation, construction in a plant or industrial environment. (preferred) and/or (any other relevant experience)

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
